fresnoappdev@gmail.comGo to Settings in the app, tap "Add account" and select Synology. Enter your server address, username and password. The app will connect to Audio Station and File Station automatically. See how it works for more details.
WebDAV is a standard protocol that allows access to files on remote servers. Many NAS devices and storage services support it. You need the server URL, username and password.
MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, ALAC, WAV and AIFF.
Yes. You can download songs and albums to listen to them without an internet connection.
Yes. Your credentials are stored in Apple's Keychain. The app only communicates with your own servers and does not send data to third parties. See our privacy policy for more information.
If you use HTTPS with your NAS's local IP (e.g. https://192.168.1.100:5001), the connection will fail because the SSL certificate on your NAS is linked to your DDNS domain (e.g. yournas.synology.me), not to the IP address.
Solution: Use your DDNS domain instead of the local IP. For example: https://yournas.synology.me:5001. This works both inside and outside your local network.
iOS requires HTTPS connections to use a valid SSL certificate issued by a recognized certificate authority. Self-signed certificates that come by default on many NAS devices are not accepted.
Solution: Install a free Let's Encrypt certificate on your NAS. On Synology you can do this from Control Panel → Security → Certificate. It's free and renews automatically.
This can happen for several reasons:
• Wrong port: Synology uses port 5001 for HTTPS and 5000 for HTTP. Make sure you're using the correct port.
• Server unreachable: Check that your NAS is powered on and accessible from your device. Try accessing it from your phone's browser.
• Firewall or router: If you're outside your local network, make sure port forwarding is configured on your router.
iOS blocks all HTTP (unencrypted) connections for security. NASound requires HTTPS to protect your credentials during transmission.
Solution: Enable HTTPS on your NAS or WebDAV server and install a valid SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt is free).
When on WiFi, your device can access the NAS directly on your local network. On mobile data you need your NAS to be accessible from the internet.
Solution: Set up a DDNS domain (like QuickConnect on Synology or a free DDNS) and make sure port forwarding is active on your router.
